22. systemd

  1. 22.1Units and timerssystemd manages units: services (.service), timers (.timer), mounts, sockets, and targets, which group other units.
  2. 22.2Why a service won't startsystemctl status NAME shows the state and the last log lines. journalctl -u NAME shows the whole log.
  3. 22.3Unit files and overridesPackages install unit files in /usr/lib/systemd/system. Yours go in /etc/systemd/system, which wins.
